A fitted base and separate lid

This layout creates two shallow trays: one for the box body and one for the lid. The lid receives a small clearance so it can slide over the base instead of reproducing the same dimensions and binding at the corners.

From measurements to a usable template

  1. Enter the finished dimensions shown beside each field.
  2. Choose A4 or Letter paper and the closest material thickness.
  3. Inspect the cut, fold and glue lines in the live preview.
  4. Download PDF for printing, SVG for craft cutters or DXF for CAD.

Test the lid clearance

Paper, cardstock coatings and corner overlaps all affect the final fit. Build one plain-paper sample, then increase or reduce the requested dimensions slightly if your chosen stock needs more or less clearance.

Lidded box questions

Are the entered dimensions for the inside of the box?

Yes. Width, height and depth describe the usable interior of the base. The generator adds construction allowances and sizes the separate lid around it.

Does the file include both the base and lid?

Yes. The preview and every export include both pieces with their cut, fold and glue lines.
